According to a report by the Association of Political Prisoners of Azarbaijan, Farhad Mohseni-Negarestan (photo left) - 25 years old and an Azari political activist - was murdered through excessive electric shocks administered during attempts to obtain confessions from him by the Islamic Republic’s Ministry of Intelligence & Security (MOIS)

His family believes Farhad’s death was due to excessive electric shocks administered to elicit confession.

His family was told that his dead body was found in Anal Golou Park (Shah Golou) in the city of Tabriz - Azarbaijan Province. His body was handed over to government medics last Wednesday, and was buried the next day without conducting post-mortem to determine the cause of death. Farhad was abducted two weeks earlier in the mentioned Park by government authorities in civilian clothing. Repeated enquiries by his family were dismissed.

Based on Farhad’s history of political activism as well as a political prisoner, claims that reasons for Farhad’s death or (suicide) are unknown are false, and are aimed at misleading the public.
